Northern Periphery and Arctic Programme funded SMARCTIC project Study Visit will take place on the 23rd and 24th of August in Sundsvall in County Västernorrland (Sweden) organized by our partner Region Västernorrland. The project meeting and the Closing Conference will be hybrid and streamed to all project partners and their stakeholders regardless of their presence in County Västernorrland.
In the Closing Conference will have the participation of different key speakers, SMARCTIC project partners will showcase different technologies to increase the use of energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions in housing and public infrastructures that have developed during the project.
AGENDA
DAY 1: 23 August 2022
9am – Partner meeting
11 30 am – Lunch 12 30 pm – Bus transfer to study visits
1 30 pm – Absolicon - Thermic solar system and production line. Technology for extracting energy from the sun and providing solar heating on both process and supply levels to supplement or replace current fuel.
3 30 pm – Bus transfer back to the hotel
6 pm – Dinner at the hotel (RCV handles the costs for the dinner)
DAY 2: 24 August 2022
8 am – Bus leaves for study visits
Sundsvall hospital – Using snow to run its cooling system. The technology greatly reduces both the energy consumption and the environmental impact of the hospital. 90 percent less energy is consumed in the cooling of the hospital facilities.
Mid Sweden University – Researchers at Mid Sweden University have developed high-capacity batteries using a novel nanomaterial with results that show an increase of capacity by 10 percent. This increase will be of importance for the electric car industry.
